Happy New Year friends!!
I hope you rang in the New Year in a fun way or just enjoyed a nice New Years Day off from work. I had a really nice time with my husband and his family on New Years Eve. Right at midnight we ate 12 grapes and enjoyed some bubbling champagne. Eating 12 grapes is a Cuban tradition from my side of the family. Each grape reflects a wish for a month of the new year. It's a fun way to think about the "resolutions", hopes, and prayers you desire to see realized in the new year. New Year's Day was a relaxing one. I did some "bird watching" from the warmth of my home and shot the pictures below. I was given a bird feeder for Christmas and have been enjoying having some chirping visitors to watch every day. Who knew bird watching could be so entertaining? :) I used my telephoto (long) lens and opened up the blinds to get a clear view. Later that day I was looking out the window again and a woodpecker had landed on the feeder. I tried reaching for my camera but the movement scared it away. Soon I'll catch some shots of it and other more colorful birds. One thing is for sure, wildlife photography takes a lot of patience! :) But the results always pay off.
